Bryan Wang’s practice area includes patent prosecution, patent licensing, client counseling, and patent litigation in China and in the U.S.  The technical area Bryan is proficient in spans from mechanical structure, medical device, to remote control, as well as semiconductor device.  Bryan has provided legal service for a great number of Chinese and U.S. corporations on patent prosecution and patent analysis, and is experienced in patent invalidation process and patent license negotiation.

Bryan obtained his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Zhejiang University, and has taken courses on mechanical structure, principles of engines, and remote control.  During his study in Zhejiang University, Bryan led a research group that focused on automobile recall.  Later Bryan joined Unitalen LLP in China, working on patent prosecution.  He has handled patents across multiple technology areas, including airplane structure, vehicle structure, structure of engines, medical device, circuit design, and remote control.  He has served multinational clients, such as Siemens, Airbus, and Samsung.  Bryan then joined McDermott Will & Emory (MWE) Shanghai Office as a patent attorney and developed his skills with respect to patent license agreement negotiation, trademark objection, and trademark infringement litigation.

In addition to work experience as an outside counsel, Bryan also served in-house in Yangtze Memory Technology Corporation (YMTC) as IP Counsel.  During his tenure at YMTC, Bryan oversaw conversion of invention ideas into patent applications, conducted FTO research, and participated in negotiations between YMTC and its competitors on patent licensing.  Such experience allows Bryan to become more proficient in core technologies in the semiconductor area, and expanded his knowledge base from mechanical automation to semiconductor.
