Practice
Harold Guo’s practice focuses on patent procurement, client counseling, patent portfolio management & transactions and patent litigation.
Harold’s technical expertise lies in electrical engineering, software, electro-mechanical and mechanical engineering, medical device, semiconductor, manufacturing, display technology, artificial intelligence, and wireless communication. He has also assisted in legal researches for litigation matters and drafted appellate briefs to the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Federal Circuit on a Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s decision. In addition, he assisted in consulting startups in the Silicon Valley about their patent portfolio management.
Harold obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tsinghua University. His research focused on the development of advanced manufacturing technologies. He participated in several National Science and Technology Major Projects where he studied the digital design, modeling and performance analysis of advanced machine tools, especially in the modeling, parameter identification and simulation methods about the joint interface characteristics. Additionally, he analyzed and optimized the static, dynamic and thermal performance of the precise manufacture system, as well as the modeling and compensation of geometric thermal errors.
Before joining Bayes PLLC, Harold law clerked at YoungBasile PC where his practice focused on patent application procurement in mechanical and software space, patent due diligence, and invalidity analysis in the matters of semiconductor technologies, software, and electronic devices. He also interned at the Technology Transfer Office (InnovationAccess Center) of University of California, Davis where he conducted patentability searches, drafted licensing agreements, and consulted for professors concerning patentability issues.
Harold is now working at Bayes' Shenzhen Office to handle patent-related matters.
